1 (18.25 oz.) package chocolate cake mix
1 (16 oz.) container prepared frosting
1 (3 oz) bar dipping chocolate
Prepare the cake as directed on the package. When cake is done, crumble while warm into a large bowl. Allow to cool, then stir in the frosting until well blended. Use a mellon baller or small scoop to form balls of the chocolate cake mixture. Place on a cookie sheet and put in the fridge for at least an hour to harden a little. (makes it easier to dip)
Melt chocolate coating in a glass bowl in the microwave, or in a metal bowl over a pan of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth.
Dip the balls in chocolate using toothpicks, a fork, or an Easter egg dipper. Place on waxed paper to set.
Each cake should make somewhere around 36 balls.
